Marky Dubois is known for his country attitude and the frog in his front overall pocket.
In his first appearances, Marky is shown with a slightly football-shaped head, a reddish-brown bowl-cut, short overalls with a shirt underneath (post-Soccer) and no shoes or socks.
In his appearances after 2003, Marky is shown to have a more rounded-out face shape. He seems a little more cleaned up, with a dark brown long-sleeved shirt under his overalls, and work boots
In Marky's later appearances his buck teeth aren't as prominent, and his red hair got lighter, possibly with age. The outfit changes stays the same as in 2002-2007.
Marky has a redneck sort of personality. Very easy-going, loyal to his friends, and sort of on the clueless side. In the older Backyard games, Marky never liked wearing shoes or socks and prefer to go barefooted. This all changed in the newer games where he dresses more normally than he did back in the older games. He has a crush on Billy Jean Blackwood, who does not reciprocate his feelings. This is shown if you put the two on the same team, as Marky's stats will increase and Billy Jean's stats will decrease.
The only time Marky wears shoes is to school and church. He really doesn't like them. or socks either. But he does like playing baseball, and he's good at it too.
If you're looking for a player with a pet frog in his overalls, look no further. Marky is a solid outfielder with a strong throwing arm, and he can play all day. But getting him focused is almost as hard as getting him to take a bath. He doesn't like socks, though - remember that.
Marky learned how to play football by tackling goats. Marky doesn't wear shoes, and getting him to put on a helmet isn't easy either.
Marky honed his fine defensive skills by tackling goats on his family's farm.
Marky learned the game of basketball by tossing pumpkins into the garbage can out back. While he doesn't have the best looking jumper, he can still get the job done in the paint.
Marky is a solid offensive player who can shoot, pass and skate equally well. Just imagine how much better he would be if anybody let him play in his bare feet, like he prefers.
- In the original Backyard Soccer game, he reveals that he uses newspaper for shinguards.
- In the Backyard Baseball series (except 2005 through 2010), when the ball is going back to him when he's pitching, he dabs (before the Dab was even a thing).
- It is revealed in the 2007-2010 games that Vicki Kawaguchi helps Marky during games.
