Barry/Jermaine Dejay is the color commentator of Backyard Basketball. Like the most other color commentators of the pre-2009 era, Barry was a former player like Chuck Downfield and Buddy Cheque. He also does the Player of the Game presented by 110% Juice in the original, but in a basketball uniform and also a playable character in some of the other Backyard Sports games, though unlockable. It is hinted in Backyard Basketball 2004 that he may have a crush on Sunny Day and he has a radio station with Kenny Kawaguchi called ”KNNY” (called ”Live 5“ in Junior Sports Basketball).

- In the beginning and middle conversations, Barry/Jermaine Dejay appears in his normal outfit, but in the end, he appears in his outfit that matches what the basketball players are wearing.
