- This is the first Backyard Baseball game to feature Jack Fouler as the in-game color commentator.
- Additionally, Sunny Day returns to being the play-by-play commentator for the Baseball games after she was absent in Backyard Sports: Baseball 2007.
- Unlike previous Backyard Baseball games, the playable characters' themes do not play whenever they score a home run with a remix of the game's main menu theme playing instead; Baseball '10 would also do this.
